Attitude & EQ, + SQ + sell VS Skills

Another intersting scene that i faced coupled days ago. Which is more important for a professional to have first, is it skills or interpersonal skills? It happened to be discussed accidentally without any plan when i was having breakfast with my colleagues at works. Since i was at my university life, i've always been advised by my brothers at college, seniors at my club that the most important thing that i have to prepare myself is my EQ. Till i graduated, i always kept that value and practice it in the early of my working days. So, by the time, when i began to have a dream and vision of where i want go and achieve, i i try to prove myself with so many things so called technical skills and forgot the first basic principle which is to be a better man everyday with attitude and passion. Until he reminds me about those. attitude and EQ will led people to managerial level, Attitude,EQ + SQ will drive people to Board of Directors Level. hm, thanks to him, i commit myself to be better every day and practicing those principles. and the last thing he told me, it's good to have a magnificent skill, but if i cannot sell myself, that it's nothing, and i cannot explore myself more. so, this is my note for today. hope that you who read this will find an encouragement through this.GBU

Dear friends,

sometimes not all good things could happened as our wish instantly. Phooff, and u get it in ur hand. but believe me the only option that would left is :

1. You get the good things that you dreamed of.

2. You get the better things more than you dreamed of.

So friends, today i chat with my COO about my future plan in the company. I already decided the position i targeted this year, my milestone position to achieve my target at the company, then i spoke to him. As a leader, he advise me a lot of things and give me the calculation of time that i need to mastered the position that i want. After i heard his explanation i was shocked and realized that the requirements for the position is far away beyond what i thought before and he said that unfortunately, time cannot freeze to wait for me to master that position. I realized that i learn something, that i cannot be selfish for my own. He really taught me about Company above team above self philosophy. But i'm not dissapointed after hearing that. But it drives me to do my best on the field that i'm entrusted to. And as i said on my writing above, there will be only 2 options that i will received, the good one or the better one.

Thank you Mr. COO. I learned a lot today from you.

Hi, this is my second blog now. in this blog, i will only write about what happened to me @ my lovely company, Sun Microsytems Indonesia. My dear friends, i cannot wait to be excited to write so many things around that happened to me at this company.
